Statistic-Workshop "Adaptive designs for complex studies in oncology"

It is our pleasure to invite you to a statistic workshop of the European Leukaemia Network which will be held in Munich at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, October 30th and 31st, 2008.

Topic

Adaptive designs for complex studies in oncology

Date

October 30th and 31st, 2008

The workshop will present new developments in clinical trial design which is relevant for therapeutic optimization studies in oncology. The typical questions asked in those studies are related to the finding of specific treatments for specific subgroups or to make a decision to skip the study arm with insufficient treatment timely. Related problems are known in the pharmaceutical development when one moves from phase II to phase III. To make this step more efficient one uses adaptive trial designs which combine Phase II and Phase III studies: seamless design. The invited speakers will present the ideas around seamless designs and will discuss their relevance for therapeutic optimization studies in oncology.
